Rare 16th – 17thC Seated Bronze, Mon Style Buddha in Royall Attire. In his right hand he holds a myrobalan fruit (its medicinal properties suggested the meaning of the Buddha as healer concept.) A fine casting with good detail. it has a black lacquer finish which is normal to lacquer these sculptures. We purchased this from a British collector who in turn bought it from a good American collector. Not recently removed from its country of origin. This is a fine investment quality sculpture.
