Sariputta (Śāriputra) and Moggallana (Maudgalyāyana) were the two chief male disciples and closest spiritual companions of Gautama Buddha. Revered as the Buddha’s right-hand and left-hand disciples, they symbolize supreme wisdom and mastery of meditation.  Sariputta: Celebrated as foremost in wisdom and deep analytical understanding of the Dharma, second only to the Buddha in teaching ability. They were Lifelong friends born on the same day in adjacent villages near Rajagaha.
