Stunning 19thC Burmese Shan Buddha, made from carved wood then covered in a thick layer of tree lacquer. Buddha is seated on a high double lotus altar and there is a line of hand engraved inscription/dedication, he has the most charming face. Old open relic niche on the back of the high altar. Top of thumb missing from left hand. This would have once sat in a family pagoda along with many others.
