A LARGE ANTIQUE NEPALESE KORA WITH SHAPED AND DECORATED BLADE. The 57 cm curved blade ending in a splayed tip with horses head finial and engraved ‘eye’ to the point. Pitted all over but still a classic collectors piece. It has a Collection Number too. A Kora is a heavy, single-edged sword with a forward-curving, flaring blade originating from Nepal and the Gurkha peoples. It features a wide, fan-shaped or cusped point, with the cutting edge on the inner curve. The iron or steel hilt has a cylindrical grip and disc-shaped guards, and the weapon was used in both warfare and sacrificial rituals
