Late 19thc Burmese Bowl hand finished with Burmese Sared Duck, Hintha (or Hamsa) Lots of delicate foliate decoration covers the body. Originally, the duck was the mythical ‘mount’ of the creator god Brahma in Indian Hinduism. Over the course of time and the eventful history of Burma, however, it was co-opted into the Burmese Buddhist popular belief. Lovely Interior item. Requires a good polish.
