A Rare Large 19thC Indian Brass Altar Sculpture of Deepalakshmi originally from Gujarat. The detachable lamp bowl is missing. This piece has a three line Inscribed Dedication. There are traces of painted detail to the head. The figure slots out of the base/altar which is fairly typical of this type of altar sculpture. A good investment item and of high quality.

This is a verse they say while undertaking Puga [prayers]
It Is Dated 1855 but could be an older sculpture with later text.
