A Huge Rare Framed Thai Rattanakosin Buddha, Temple Banner/Painting on Fabric. This decorative painting is dating from the Mid Rattanakosin period C1850. It depicts the standing Buddha on a decorated altar with two worshipful attendants. A wonderful colourful painting on fabric and would have once hung in a temple or monastery. Further reading see- Doris Duke, The South East Asian Art Collection. As expected for such a rare item the fabric has some missing paint and areas of discolouring. The whole thing is heavy within its frame and removal from the frame is not an easy task, this would have to be undertaken by specialists. A great interior Item.
