Rare Standing Buddha. Thailand, Haripunjaya Period 11thC from present day Lamphun. Handmade in Terracotta, carved on three sides with a flat back, possibly once attached to a stele or part of an architectural niche. It was made with this curved stance so when it was up high it would be gazing down on the follower. Bought through UK art market and has good provenance. This is an absolutely stunning Buddhist sculpture of museum quality and a very good investment piece. Other similar items in the Metropolitan Museum of New York etc.
