Stunning 18thC lacquered and gilded hand carved wooden seated Buddha sculpture with a very serene face and poise with inlayed eyes. Unusual right leg position where the foot is resting on a lotus bud which is sprouting from the high altar, this is seen on some Tibetan sculpture [Green Tara] but my first on a Laos Buddha. Fabulous piece with normal ware for its age. From a recent collection we have purchased.
